Our Year 2 residential is an exciting milestone in our school journey. Taking place in the autumn term, this overnight stay at Edgmond Hall is a wonderful opportunity for children to:

  • Widen their learning experience.

  • Develop independence and life skills.

  • Try adventurous activities in a safe environment.

  • Build friendships and work collaboratively.

The team-building activities and shared experiences help break down barriers, encourage communication, and give children the chance to see themselves – and each other – in a new light.

Activities & Experiences

During the residential, children might:

  • Build shelters using sticks, mud, and leaves.

  • Take on the blindfold challenge (often leading to muddy giggles!).

  • Enjoy a night walk under the stars.

  • Feed the goats and chickens.

  • Toast marshmallows and sing songs around the campfire.

They also experience the simple joys of sleeping in bunk beds, sharing rooms with friends, and enjoying hearty meals together.

In the Children’s Own Words...
